Greenshell™ Mussels

Unique to New Zealand and rope-grown in pristine waters, our Greenshell™ Mussels are among the most sustainable seafood species in the world. As filter feeders, mussels take all their nutrients from the seawater and have a positive impact on their environment. A convenient superfood, these sweet, juicy delicacies are both good for you and the planet!

TASTE PROFILE

Greenshell™ Mussels are known as New Zealand’s most iconic seafood for good reason. Nestled inside their distinctive green shell, the apricot or white coloured meat is seriously juicy with a sweet, tender taste, and jam-packed full of nutrients. These mighty morsels are delicious, nutritious and incredibly versatile.

How we grow our mussels

1

Spat (baby mussels) are collected from coastlines around New Zealand or raised in our purpose-built hatchery.

2

Baby mussels are seeded on continuous crop ropes suspended above the ocean floor using biodegradable stockings. These breakdown naturally as the mussels attach to the lines.

3

We add seawater, and nothing else! Greenshell™ Mussels take all of their nutrients by filtering the water around them.

4

After 26-48 months, when their quality and condition is at its peak, we carefully harvest and grade - flash freezing to naturally lock in freshness, flavour and nutrition.

5

And then ship for you to enjoy wherever you are in the world.
